Washburn users may encounter an error when they are viewing the Attendance - PIN and Check-In widget on their Desire2Learn Brightspace course homepage. This error causes the widget to display incorrectly so that students cannot successfully enter their attendance status or PIN. This error occurs when Mac users access their Brightspace course in Safari.
As this error is isolated to the Safari browser on Macs, the best solution is to access the Brightspace course through a non-native alternative browser. Online Education Support recommends that all users have at least one supported alternative browser. The alternative browsers to work with Brightspace are Google Chrome and Firefox.
Another solution for Mac users is to change the Safari settings on their computer. To do so, select Settings, then Safari > Preferences, then deactivate Prevent Cross-Site Tracking.
