Private Scholarships

The Financial Aid Office at Washburn University receives a variety of notifications regarding private scholarships which are made available from private organizations.  Washburn University does not determine the recipient of these awards nor determine the awarding criteria.  Questions regarding these awards should be directed to the organization providing the scholarship. The Financial Aid Office at Washburn University will only post scholarships which it believes to be legitimate in order to protect you from any scams.  It is also advised that you use your personal judgment before applying for any scholarships.

  • LULF DREAM Scholarship – October 15, 2016 ( Must be DACA qualified although you don’t need to have applied or received DACA to be considered for this scholarship)
  • Asian Women In Business Scholarship – October 25, 2016
  • Ofield Dukes Multicultural Student Award – May 26, 2017 (Must be enrolled in a journalism program, public relations studies or courses preparing for a career in public relations and entering your junior year of undergraduate studies in fall after the application deadline)
  • Marcia Silverman Minority Student Award – May 26, 2017 (Must be enrolled in a journalism program, public relations studies or courses preparing for a career in public relations and entering your senior year of undergraduate studies in fall after the application deadline)
  • Microsoft Careers Scholarship – Check in October of 2016 for 2017 deadline. (Undergraduate degree in computer science, computer engineering or related techinal discipline such as electrical engineering, math or physics.)
  • Golden Doors Scholars – October 03, 2016 (Applicants must be eligible for DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) or TPS (Temporary Protected Status))
  • Google Lime Scholarship – December 4, 2016  (Computer Science or Computer Engineering degree, or a degree in a closely related technical field; A student with a visible or invisible disability)
