Private Scholarships

The Financial Aid Office at Washburn University receives a variety of notifications regarding private scholarships which are made available from private organizations.  Washburn University does not determine the recipient of these awards nor determine the awarding criteria.  Questions regarding these awards should be directed to the organization providing the scholarship. The Financial Aid Office at Washburn University will only post scholarships which it believes to be legitimate in order to protect you from any scams.  It is also advised that you use your personal judgment before applying for any scholarships.

Degree Specific Scholarships

  • Diane Wright Memorial Scholarship – Deadline March 31, 2018, Open to those eligible applicants seeking a degree in the Educational field.
  • ABWA Career Chapter Scholarship Application – March 16, 2018; Preference given to students pursuing careers in healthcare
  • 2017 RN-to-BSN Scholarship – December 31st; Open to graduates and current enrollees of any prelicensure RN program, including associate’s degree and diploma programs.
  • Greta James Memorial Scholarship – April 18th; enrolled in medical degree seeking programs
  • 2017 Surgent CPA Review ScholarshipNovember 13, 2017; currently-enrolled business student with aspirations towards entering the field of accounting
  • 2017 Surgent Professional Education ScholarshipThe deadline for the 2017 Surgent Professional Education Scholarship was July 1, 2017. Winners will be notified on August 1, 2017. Please watch for information on our 2018 scholarship this fall. any currently-enrolled business students working towards an accounting major
  • The Future Leaders in Retail Scholarship – entries postmarked by November 15th.- undergraduates or graduates majoring in Marketing, Advertising, Business Management, Retail Management, Fashion, Merchandising or a related field of study.
  • John D. Graham ScholarshipMay 26, 2017 (Must be enrolled in a journalism program, public relations studies or courses preparing for a career in public relations and entering your senior year of undergraduate studies in fall after the application deadline)
  • ZENDYHEALTH Med Tech ScholarshipAugust 15, 2017; Pre-Med, Computer Science / Engineering, Information Technology, Public Health, Nursing, or Psychology
